What is it?

Electronic Attendance students registration system, electronically records the presence, absence or lateness of students. With our Falcon4Schools
AM/PM registration, students swipe their ID card or use their fingerprint to register. All readers are in constant communication with the controlling PC, thus delivering real time information, necessary for emergencies. Each registration contains the date, time, reader ID and ID number. A link to SIMS (or other MIS) will transfer data to/from SIMS. We are SQL partner of Capita SIMS. Please see Attendance Report.

Why spend money on it?

From as little as £50.00 per week the system will save the time of manual registration, encourage children to take responsibility, give an accurate account of students thus helping fight truancy and provide accurate information for EMA payments. The system can be combined with security access control where only authorized card holders can access the school or designated areas within the school.

Upon the introduction of an e-registration system you will probably see an increase in unauthorized absence levels and post registration truancy; this is due to a more accurate method of gathering and analyzing attendance data.

Increasing pupil awareness about school attendance is another positive effect seen upon the introduction of an e-registration system, the data is available instantly so enabling your school EWO or attendance officer the ability to contact parents immediately or take other appropriate action. E-registration will compliment your efforts to develop a positive school environment and attitude to learning.

Based on a Paradox database falcon 4 schools is easy to use and support and has full multi-user functionality, and will sit on any Microsoft operating platform either as stand alone or in LAN/WAN environments. SIMS Interface- The falcon 4 schools solution also enables you to have statistical data for reporting and exporting to management software such as SIMS or RM.

Why Fingerprint?

Instead of reprinting new, lost or stolen cards why not use our Fingerprint recognition terminals eliminating buddy punching, giving true account of attending students. Combined with our cashless meals modules, storing money on student accounts instead of on smart cards reduces bullying. We don't keep an image of the Fingerprint. The scanned image (not Afis compatible) is translated to an algorithm, only that number is stored. More on Biometric technology

Our Biometric terminals:

The biometric terminals work in one of three ways;

• Identification
• Verification
• Smart Card

Biometrics - Is an optional way of registering pupil attendance and overcomes the possibility that pupils may register for a friend who is not in attendance or who is late. We are able to offer a range of biometric fingerprint attendance registration terminals. The fingerprint is stored as an algorithm and cannot be used to reproduce the individuals fingerprint in its entirety. This algorithm is stored as a template within the schools computer database.

In Identification mode the pupil identifies himself or herself by presenting their finger to the reader and the system then searches the template database to find a match.

In the Verification mode the pupil uses a card or PIN to identify themselves, then their fingerprint is scanned and the template stored against the PIN number is checked for a match. This method is slightly faster than the Identification method.

The third alternative is the Smart Card, which stores the individuals fingerprint template within an electronic chip on the card not on the Schools computer.

ID Cards

Our ID badge system can provide valuable information as to the identity of the holder, i.e. photograph, name, title, card number and School logo to give a sense of belonging. We can also provide systems based on smart cards. The chip in the smart card allows other personal information to be stored on the card, such as medical, meal or library usage.

Pupils simply wave their card in front of the reader and register their attendance. The process takes less then a second. More and more schools are encouraging pupils to take responsibility in registering their own attendance, saving valuable teaching time and increasing pupil awareness and responsibility to their own school attendance. The introductions of swipe card readers into classrooms will also enable your school to tackle inter lesson truancy and punctuality, which is another common problem in many schools.

Security Access Control

As the need to improve security in schools is on the increase, our Electronic Attendance solution with ID badges can help your school do just that. Only authorized card holders can access the school or designated areas within the school. For enhanced security you can use biometric readers and digital CCTV.

Security Access Control is also included in the falcon 4 schools software package, ensuring only authorized card holders can gain access to the school. Every attempted entry is registered, even the rejected ones. The system allows for multiple entry points around the school, and can be integrated with CCTV and Door Intercom. A live online event function within the software displays the individual's photo on screen when their badge is presented to a reader.

Emergency Cases

Fire Report - A Fire Report can be printed automatically on activation of the fire alarm, or by pressing a key at the PC. It can even be sent to a remote site. Real time data collection enables you to have an accurate report of Pupils who have left the building or are still onsite.
